Hi, I’m Leahann. I had surgery almost a year ago. I can’t believe I’ve lost 105 pounds now. It’s been absolutely wonderful. My life has just exceeded all of my expectations. You know, I can’t believe that I’ve come so far, and I never imagined a life like this. It’s just…it’s great.

I decided to officially go ahead and do it once I felt like my career wasn’t going anywhere. I just…I wasn’t happy with myself. I was hurting: my knees, my ankles, my back, anything you can imagine was just…it was just painful. And I finally, I was just at that point one day when I saw a picture of myself that, you know, I didn’t approve. I didn’t like who took it or, you know, which way it was taken. It just made me feel horrible that I had let myself get to that point, and that’s when I finally decided this is what I have to do. I yo-yo dieted for many years, and I was considered morbidly obese for about five years, and I was just…I was tired of it. I used to play volleyball. I played basketball. I was into all kinds of sports, and I was just…I got so fatigued working an eight-hour shift. I couldn’t do anything afterwards, and that was my breaking point.

I chose Dr. Ganta because I did my research for about six months trying to decide which doctor I wanted to go to. He was the most experienced and most qualified that I found. He was very personable. His office was just amazing. You know, all of his staff was very friendly. He partners with different people to show you and help you out, and him himself was just…he himself was just great, just a great person to be around, ready and willing to help you, answer any questions you needed to know. And I had the one incision done, the single incision so there weren’t any scars, you know, because I am going to wear that bikini. I am.

Life after surgery has just been great. You know, I’ve lost 110 pounds now, and it’s been amazing. I can finally do the things I want to. I can plan my wedding, and be happy while I’m planning it, not thinking: what are my wedding pictures going to look like? Am I going to look this big in a wedding dress? I’m not going to have to worry about any of that because I know I’m going to look fabulous. And I love to go shopping now. I couldn’t stand it. My girlfriends would always want to take me out shopping, and I never really wanted to go, and that was kind of depressing but now I love to go. My husband doesn’t like it so much. It’s kind of hard on his wallet, but he deals with it because he knows it makes me happy.

I had a manager from another place that I used to work at, you know, see me for the first time, and he was just like, “Wow! What did you do? You look amazing. You look great.” And we started talking about it, and any time someone from my past comes up, it’s the same thing: “Wow, what did you do?” And I love to just be able to say: well, I went to Dr. Ganta and he helped me, and it was great, changed my life, and if you’re considering doing it, I highly recommend it.

Ever since I walked through Dr. Ganta’s doors for the first time, his staff was very friendly, very opening and inviting. All the testing, you know, when I had to come back for the testing that you had to do before surgery, they remembered my name as soon as I walked in. They knew who I was.

The day of surgery, I was the first one to have surgery performed by Dr. Ganta that day, so I was a little bit nervous. I was his first one. And he walked me through what was going to happen. You know, surgery happened. Everything went great, went smooth, and the only time it was bad was after I left the hospital. That’s when it was kind of bad, and that was the only time. After that, everything was just up. Started losing weight, and my life just continued to excel and get better.

I would recommend Dr. Ganta because I did my research. I looked at every other doctor, and I’m from Houston. He’s in Austin. I mean, I think that should, you know, speak a little bit about…that I was willing to travel to Austin to receive the surgery just from Dr. Ganta. I believe that he is that specialized in this field, and he’s the best one out there.

If you’re considering doing any kind of surgery, here’s my recommendation: the sooner, the better. If you know you can get your life back on track and this will help you, do it. Don’t wait. If I could’ve done it sooner, I probably would’ve. And I’m 24 right now, and I really wish I would’ve had it when I was 20 and lived those years as I am right now because it’s the best thing you can do for yourself.
